400 Women Entrepreneurs Receive Business Loans through MWEI

 More than 400 women entrepreneurs from Temeke, Dar es Salaam, will now be able to provide for their families at ease, having received interest-free loans from Vodacom Foundation through M-Pesa Women Empowerment Initiative (MWEI).

Through the MWEI project, women entrepreneurs across the country receive interest-free loans to start businesses or boost existing ones and repay through the M-Pesa service.

The women who received loans worth more than Ths.30 million will now be able to start up new businesses or expand their existing ones.
Speaking while giving out the loans in Temeke Stereo Market, Grace Lyon - Manager Vodacom Foundation in charge of MWEI, said that Vodacom aims at empowering women who for a long time have been the pillars of our society
